Avery approached Fluid to develop a novel concept: a web-based e-commerce application that allows consumers to design and personalize U.S. postage with their own photos.
Fluid's challenge: Create a fun, easy-to-use solution for personalizing postage. Develop a customized system for delivery of print ready files to Avery's production facilities. Implement the eCommerce infrastructure.
Fluid developed a full-featured Flash-based interface that enables consumers to upload and edit their images directly in their chosen stamp template. After a consumer personalizes and purchases a stamp, the system generates a high-resolution image file and sends it digitally to an Avery printing facility. There it is printed and delivered to the customer.
The entire process - from initial creation to content review to printing to quality assurance to fulfillment - is managed via a custom order management system for tracking postage label files.
FunStamps.com is a hit with business and consumer customers. Order volume continues to increase.
