Fluid is searching for Flash Designers and Developers with the passion, talent and experience to create truly innovative web experiences. We are looking for concept-driven visual problem solvers with rock-solid design chops and a desire to define the next generation of consumer shopping experiences for digital retail. This critical role is responsible for designing “best-practice” shopping experiences that are elegant, intuitive, achieve marketing goals and are brand-appropriate.

At Fluid you will be responsible for creating interactive experiences for global consumer brands such as The North Face, Vans, JanSport, Calvin Klein, Lucky Brand, Craftsman, and Kenmore.

As Flash Designer, you will contribute in a supporting role in design, production and motion on select accounts from concept to launch. You will be hands-on, performing necessary production and creating motion-based design solutions as well as working collaboratively with your team – which will include other designers, user experience, account management and project management. You will work closely with your Creative Director, ACD, Art Director and clients throughout a project – interpreting creative requirements and executing design deliverables.

• Hands-on experience creating exceptional digital brand experiences
• 2 – 8+ years experience in an interactive agency or working directly for a nationally recognized consumer brand.
• Contributing as Flash Designer/Developer/Motion Designer on a client team, with a track record for developing strong working relationships, applying given creative direction, understanding client goals and creating brand-appropriate solutions.
• Experience bringing static concepts to life, using time-based animation as a story-telling medium and optimizing artwork
• Creation of pixel-precise interactive experiences or environments with file size efficiency
• Ideally you are coming from a heavy-production, fast-paced studio environment
• Refined typographic skills, color sensibility and composition
• Degree in interaction design or animation (highly desired)

Responsibilities:

• Producing assets for HTML-based sites as well as Flash
• Performing retouching, batch processing and necessary file optimization
• Follow creative direction, design patterns and create extensions
• Interpret and translate wireframes into tangible and compelling motion-based designs
• Communicate proactively, checking in with CD, PM, Art Director and UX team to present progress at various stages of completion
• Prepare detailed and accurate specifications for projects
• Ensure flawless execution, delivered to specification – on time
• Stays abreast of technological innovations in graphic design, online shopping and social media

Essentials:

• Foundational knowledge in visual design, interaction design AND animation
• Intermediate hands-on knowledge of Adobe CS suite, Flash Actionscript and AfterEffects. 3D packages or mobile experience is a plus!
• Have an online portfolio of beautifully designed motion-based work
• A reasonably good sense of humor
